Otep - Sevas Tra
Review by Senile

Truly a band that has some darkness flared within their hard hitting
sound. It is almost a chaotic maelstrom of Slipknot, Kittie, Marilyn Manson,
and all of hell letting loose in some of the tracks. This is about the sound of
Otep, not to say that Marilyn Manson even complimented them on their whole
outlook. That has got to carry just a little bit of weight, right? Here is a
F.Y.I. Otep is an Egyptian suffix meaning "creative offerings", go figure. Bet
you couldn't guess this means it is going to be a bit brutal.

I had only heard about this band and I didn't even hear that much about them. I
just pretty much went out on a limb and bought this cd. Wow. Where the hell
has this band been? Well, I am going to stop repeating myself.

Otep combines down-tuned ass pounding metal with just as big of riffs if not
heavier then slipknot, some hip-hop sound on a few tracks to make a bit of a
drop down sound, and you can't help but feel a bit of an evil presence looming
around by listening to a few of the songs on this (heheh, like more then a few).
If you want a cd to where you just want to mosh and mosh and mosh with some
really heavy shit with a kick ass girl singer, hell yeah man. :p. I resorted
to using a face sticking out it's tongue and saying hell yeah man because I
don't really know how to sum it up. Eh, goodbye then and go out on a limb and
get this cd. Why not?
