The Royal Sasquatch was a community-driven music review website, active from 2002 to approximately 2005. It featured user-submitted reviews across a wide range of genres including metal, rock, rap, electronica, punk, comedy, country, pop, and soundtracks.
The Archive
This is a static reconstruction of the original site, built from content recovered from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. The original site was PHP/MySQL-driven; this reconstruction preserves the content as static HTML pages styled to match the original design as closely as possible.
What was recovered:
- 257 artist pages
- 141 album pages with review scores
- 37 full review texts
- 52 contributor profiles
Not all content survived — the Wayback Machine captured the "shallow" listing pages more thoroughly than the "deep" full review text pages. Many review scores and attributions were preserved even where the full review text was not.
