Cradle of Filth - Damnation and a Day
Review by Senile
I had a feeling that if the Midian cd was better then their older
stuff, I had a feeling that this cd was going to be good but never have I
imagined that it would have been this good. The orchestration mixing with the
heavy music, the vocals, just everything is pitch perfect. It is more then just
music to my ears (and that is a hell of a lot to me). The guitar work is even
heavier and seems to have a bit more thrash to it. The vocals placement and
sound is actually a lot better then before.
Now, in normal reviews, I could do an analysis of the good tracks and all of
that and which ones stand out more then other tracks, but I'll be honest. This
cd is the bomb. The interludes even sound pretty good but this cd is just pitch
perfect. The guitar riffs on the different songs differ and yet sound similar
if you can understand what I am saying (they have different chords and all but
the kick ass sound is still there). I can not even really begin to describe how
great this cd is because it is pretty much the best Goth Metal cd I have ever
heard. I love it. I think it would be a pretty hard cd for any other band to
try and top.
So, essentially, this is their most sinister and best sounding cd yet and I
would have it no other way.
