Amdusica - Melodies for the Devil
Review by Senile
Acclaimed to be the next Mexican industrial sensation, Amduscia
delivers and how on this album. Just from the beginning, you can tell that it
is going to be good. But damn, I didn't expect anything quite this catchy.
The vocals are extremely rough and distorted a little, adds the nice flavor
right there. Their down key synths and distortion, mixed with rhythms gives a
good dark atmosphere. "Beyond the Darkness (raving mix)" is just a hardcore
industrial song with smooth synths, upbeat trance sound, and vocals that fit
ontop of it perfectly. "Killing Mission" incorporates distorted bass and hard
hitting bass beats, with uplifting sounding synths. The vocal distortion at one
point of the song is extremely catch and adds an interesting mixup. It just
goes on and on... the songs are diverse and similar at the same time. I notice
that they like to use the same symbol loop in the background of songs with a
different pace but hey, it's a catchy sound. "Fucking Flesh (raw mix)" has lots
of electronics going on in the song and the synth sounds Assemblage 23 sized
during the chorus.
Overall, to describe this album into better words then ranting on and on, this
is one hell of a harsh electro album. It combines uplifting synths and
downtuned synths, hard hitting beats, the recurring symbol loop, and some of the
most harsh vocals that industrial has probably heard so far. It is a musical
experience that will just kick your ass and want you begging for more. Great cd
to listen to for pretty much... any mood!
